Yeehaw

Before the blizzard hit, we enjoyed an absolutely beautiful weekend... I'm talkin' a 70 degree, picnic at the park, then go to the Stock Show kind of a beautiful weekend.  We crammed way too much in but had a blast.  Grandma and Grandpa went to the Stock Show with us and enjoyed looking at all the "amnimals" with the kids.

Since we decided to go on the same day as the rest of the Fort Worth wanna-be cowboys, it was pretty packed.  We did manage to make it through the crazy crowded children's barn though. Ducklings, a newborn calf, baby pigs, the works...

The highlight of the day was the pony rides.... and yes, even Reese saddled up!  The tent was red and I only had the point and shoot camera so unfortunately I got really crummy pictures.  You know I haven't mastered photo shop yet... so black and white is what you get.

Yeehaw cowboys!

Hurseee Hurseee

Tucker is totally obsessed with Horses right now. Every animal we pass along the road is a Hursee... cows, goats, and if we're driving fast enough, even large dogs. Since we pass a couple horse ranches on the way to school, Reese and I get to hear about the hursees everyday.

One of our neighbors (to be) has some beautiful horses so I was excited to take Tucker for a closer look. He was so cute... totally wanted to pet her and probably would have jumped on if I would have let him.

I think he's ready for one of his own... and so is mama. I've decided that Tucker and I will ride the hursees and Dad and Reese can take care of them. Sounds fair, right?

Oh... and don't think I was playing favorites by only letting Tucker see the horse up close... you know Reese didn't want to have anything to do with this beast. We'll keep working on her.

The Dallas Aquarium

Okay, so it's totally worth the money and the drive. We went to the Dallas Aquarium with my mom, Amber, Dana and her kids yesterday. It's way more than fish and a must see!!! I think the kids loved it almost as much as I did...

Spring break is almost over and I'm really sad. This week made me wish I could stay home with the kids. But at least we'll have the summer... and it can't get here quick enough.

Down on the Farm

Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead in Overland Park, Kansas... highly recommend it. Our annual Tims/Olson Family Reunion was held in Kansas this summer so we took all the kids to this FREE children's farm. Tucker loved it. Reese, on the other hand, was miserable. This was when she was going through her "I hate being outside" phase, so she was not happy. It also didn't help that she was almost eaten by a giant goat when we first got there. That pretty much ruined it for her.

Note to parents... ease your children into a place like this. Starting with the goats that jump over the fence to be fed, is a very bad idea.

Tucker loved it all though... feeding the goats, riding the tractors, using the water pump and then splashing in the water and petting all the animals. He didn't even mind me forcing him to take a picture behind the huge potted flower.

Aunt Jen was our photographer for the day and she captured lots of great shots... you can't even really tell how much Reese was hating me for this forced fun!
