Mean ol' Monkey

Reese and Tucker went to the Fort Worth Zoo for the first time today.  It was a perfect morning for it... 80 degrees and overcast.  Loved it.  Grandma and Grandpa got them Zoo passes for their 2nd birthday so we'll be visiting A LOT.  It was nice to go, stay for a few hours and not feel like we needed to see and do everything this time.  We spent most the morning in the World of Primates...

I've mentioned before how cautious Reese is... definitely not like her Mama.  After being coerced to participate she usually ends up loving whatever we're doing, but she's not the fearless daredevil like Tucker.  Crazy things tend to happen to this girl too that don't help with her apprehension... like when the giant GOAT tried to jump over the fence to grab the food in her hand last summer.  Well, today was no different.  She was standing up against the glass looking for the monkeys when one came around the corner (she couldn't see him), jumped in front of her, and smacked the glass with his hand.  I've never seen her jump so high.  Needless to say, she was happy to be confined to her stroller for the rest of the morning.

It was a fun morning and we all enjoyed a good nap when we got home... well except Chris who isn't human and never sleeps.  Hopefully Reese won't be heckled by the zebras when we go back next week.
