Turkey Day '09

We spent Thanksgiving weekend with my family this year. Each year we rotate... Thanksgiving with one side of the family and Christmas with the other... and then the next year, we swap. Since Chris' family doesn't live in Fort Worth, we can't be with everyone for every holiday. But this seems to work pretty well.

The weather was beautiful so we spent some time outside after stuffing ourselves with turkey and all the fixings. Unfortunately, Reese and Tucker are in a very uncooperative phase when it comes to pictures, so we didn't really get great family shots. They are constantly on the move and refuse to sit still long enough for us to snap a picture. Well... unless they're eating of course. Notice the pics of them with their turkey legs! Reese was totally disgusted by it... guess she's gonna be one of those "I don't eat meat off the bone" kind of girls. Watch out boys... this one is going to be high maintenance.

Scrap Weekend

Twice a year, I get together with some of my girlfriends and go to a place called Scrappin' Around the Corner in Denton. We spend the weekend eating, talking, eating, watching movies, eating, laughing, and best of all... scrapping! We started scrapping together a few years ago. It's started off as a hobby and now it's totally an obsession. Chris dreads our "family fun times" because he knows I'm going to take hundreds of pictures so I have some good ones to scrap. I'm always months behind and so look forward to these weekends where I can knock out tons of fun layouts. I always come back exhausted because we stay up all night... but it's always a blast.

This trip I had to finish up their first year scrapbooks before I could get started on the current stuff. Yes, they're 17 months old and I'm just now finishing their first year. I told you I stay months behind.

It was fun hanging out with you girls this weekend. Until next time... Go Eagles.

Fall Frolic

Everything is more fun with kids. Okay, so maybe not everything. Grocery shopping definitely isn't more fun with kids. But most things are more fun... Fall being one of them. This week we took some time to just play outside and enjoy the beautiful Fall weather. Reese and Tucker were crazy cute playing in the leaves...

Before you have kids, you rake the leaves, bag them up, and put them out for the garbage man. After you have kids, you rake them into a pile, jump and play in them like a crazy person, and then bag them up. See, I was right... most things are more fun with kids.

Pebbles & Bamm Bamm

Finally... the Halloween pictures are in. Are they not the cutest Pebbles and Bamm Bamm you've ever seen?

Our church does a fall festival every year, complete with trunk-or-treating, carnival games, bounce houses, tons of candy, etc. so we headed up there on Saturday night.

The kids didn't really know what to think of everyone; especially Grandma and Grandpa who weren't afraid to bust out the wigs and bell bottoms for a little candy. This has to be what they looked like in High School.

Emma and Caden were there too, so we got to take a couple cousin pics. They were dressed as a bull rider and a rodeo clown... so clever and cute! Look at how Reese and Tucker are checkin' them out!

After doing some Trunk-or-Treating, we went inside to the toddler's gym where they experienced a bounce house for the first time. The absolutely loved it! Reese threw a level 5 fit when I made her get out. She could have rolled and bounced around in there for hours.

Until next Halloween...

More Halloween Fun

I know I'm totally torturing those of you who have been dying to see Reese and Tucker in their costumes. You know I'm OCD and can't post things out of order. So... here they are playing in their Halloween attire at Daddy's Fall Festival on Friday. He says they'll be attending Brock Elementary in a few years... but do you notice how they're wearing Bearcat orange?

After the fall festival we did what we love most... played outside. We are SO not looking forward to the cold weather and being stuck inside.
I promise to post pictures of the cutest Pebbles and Bamm Bamm you've ever seen tomorrow!

Pumpkin-Carving Fun

I'm pretty sure I haven't carved a pumpkin since I was a kid. But after paying like 12 bucks for one at the pumpkin patch, I decided we were definitely carving this bad boy. When I told Chris we were carving a pumpkin on Thursday night, he was actually pretty excited about it. He loves projects... watch out 5th grade teachers, Reese and Tucker are going to have the best Science Fair projects! Anyway, he got to planning and decided to make this detailed, crazy pumpkin that said "Tims Twins 1st Halloween. We got everything ready and went to town...

Reese and Tucker just watched in amazement at first.

Reese wasn't at all interested in getting messy... she wanted nothing do with the guts.

But once Dad got it all cleaned out, she was way into "pretending" to help.

Yep, she's got it all over her face... caught her tryin' a little. Mmm tasty.

Tucker loved it all too... in fact, they both threw major fits when I made them get down to go take a bath. Such a mean mom.

That was pretty much it. They played in the pumpkin, pretending to scoop the guts out while we snapped pictures.
I'm not sure Chris understood what I meant when I said, "We're going to carve a pumpkin tonight." What I really meant was, "We're going to play and take pictures, and then leave you to finish the pumpkin." His excitement and enthusiasm turned into "Why am I in here doing this by myself again?" He modified his original plan a little...

I still think it turned out pretty cute though.
