Zoo Crew

What do you do when it's 110 degrees outside?  Torture yourself by going to the Zoo!  I have to admit that the FW Zoo, although 95% outdoors, does a great job of making you not miserable.  We started early, stayed in the shade, and save the MOLA and other inside exhibits for the heat of the day.  It was one last family fun activity before going back to work.  I love it that the kids act like its the first time they've been to the zoo each time we go.... oh to see things through the eyes of a child.

They have a new outdoor education center and the kids got to see some of the animals up close and personal...

The kids always love to feed the birds.  This time one landed on my arm... they thought I was a rock star!

While visiting the MOLA, they got a lesson about some rare, unique turtle that I can't pronounce the name of.

It was a hot, but really fun day!  Rylan tagged along and was a total trooper.  By the end of the day, we were all ready for a nap!

Despite the heat, the Zoo continues to be one of my favorite summer activities!
