Making Memories in Medford

After the reunion, we went to Medford to make some more memories.  Mike and Tara, their 3 kids, and our crew all stayed with Grandma for a few days.  Grammy, Grandpa and Grandma O also came. This is becoming an annual event and one that we hope to continue for years to come.  We hope to hear our kids talking someday about how much they loved eating at Smirka's and playing at the farm.

We shopped a little on the square.  How cute are the twins (both sets) waiting at the soda counter in the old drugstore?

We played at the park... the kids can't seem to get enough of swings and slides these days.

Then we spent some time playing out at the farm.  Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of damage from the storms that went through Oklahoma.  We played outside while the guys worked in the house.

Grandma Tims bought all the kids these cute Medford T-shirts.  I still can't believe we have 5 kids under the age of 3.  You can imagine how much adult conversation we have.

We also walked down to the corner of the square for snow cones and played in the Pocket Park.

Thanks for having us Gma Tims.  We definitely made some Medford Memories this summer!  We love you!

What a Catch

There was a little "catch and release" pond at the resort where we stayed during the reunion, so the boys took the kids fishing.  I was excited to see them catch their first fish (or at least watch their dad catch one) but unfortunately, it didn't happen.  Chris didn't end up catching anything until after we left, but they still had fun watching everyone fish...

Reuben showing Tucker how it's done.  Chris and Reuben are scary alike.  They are definitely the most competitive of the crew.  I think Chris one the fishing competition this year... but Reuben showed him up at Corn Hole.

Reese thought it was all pretty boring.  She lasted a few minutes and then wanted to run and play.  I'm with you sister.  Fishing is BORING... especially when you don't catch anything.  Which is usually the case for me.

Owen and Uncle Jim were the only ones who caught anything while I was out there... I think he caught like 5 fish or something crazy. The fish seemed to prefer hot dogs to worms this year.

Owen was showing the big boys how it's done.  You know they hated being shown up by a 4 year old.

Kaylie and Drew both caught their first fish this year.  They were really excited to tell everyone how they caught and even touched their fish.  So cute.

The fish were the perfect size for the kids to catch and reel in.  Next time, we'll really get Reese and Tucker in there to make their first catch.  We'll see what Reese thinks of the slimy worms and fish guts.  Won't that be fun?

Horrible Name for a Lake

We had our annual Tims/Olson Family Reunion last week at Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma.  Don't you think that's a horrible name for a lake? It totally sounds like a lake that might play host to a Friday the 13th movie or something.  Anyway, it was a smaller group this year and we decided we needed another day or two next year, but we still had a great time.

Thanks to Lisa and Chris for putting it together this year!  Stay tuned for more pics...
